Jon McKinney

Hello and welcome all Avengers and parents!

My name is Jon McKinney and I teach math here at Oak Grove Middle School. I am originally from a small town called Sligo located in western Pennsylvania. After earning my Bachelor's degree and a minor in math from Penn State University, I worked as a mechanical engineer in Cleveland. After making the decision to become a teacher, I went to Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, where I received a Master's of Education in Middle and Secondary Instruction with concentrations in middle school math and science. Shortly after graduating, my wife Laurie and I moved to North Carolina and since then we have lived here with our sons Theo and Lew as well as our dog Gator. Outside of school I love to travel abroad, camp, hike, bike, and spend time with my friends and family.
